A FIGURA 3D avatar by Human Solutions is the 3D representation of the body shape. Unlike in films or on virtual catwalks, the main factor here is not appearance, but the exact integration of body shape and dimensions into the development phase - and to achieve this, the measurements must be 100% accurate. The figure being worked upon consists of a thick cloud of around 5,000 measurement points, which are interconnected in a closed surface, enabling textile materials to be pulled on to it. The avatar has certain postures, which initially allow access for the use of virtual sewing tools, then later enable the simulation of the virtual item of apparel. The Human Solutions avatar also adopts the appearance and mobility of the underlying design program.
