Texprocess 2011: travel, accommodation and ticketing made easy

Well planned is half the battle – services for an optimum visit to the fair

29.03.2011

Texprocess ticket also gives admission to Techtextil

Making travel arrangements, booking hotels, finding the right exhibitors and their innovations at the fair quickly – no matter what the task, good organisation is the key to a successful trade-fair visit. And this is particularly true of a new event such as Texprocess, Leading International Trade Fair for Processing Textile and Flexible Materials, in Frankfurt am Main from 24 to 27 May 2011.

Visitors to Techtextil, International Trade Fair for Technical Textiles and Nonwovens, which is being held concurrently from 24 to 26 May2011, will also face a new situation. Thus, anyone wanting to visit both events should consider staying an extra day beforehand.

Messe Frankfurt offers a variety of services designed to make preparing for the fair easier.

Admission tickets

Texprocess admission tickets also entitle the holder to visit the concurrent Techtextil trade fair. Admission tickets for Texprocess can be purchased at the lower advance booking rate on the internet at www.texprocess.com and offer Texprocess visitors a variety of benefits. For example, an online day ticket costs € 20 instead of € 30 on arrival at the fair while a season ticket costs € 35 instead of € 55. Voucher holders can exchange their vouchers for admission tickets quickly and easily before leaving for Frankfurt and save having to queue at the box office. Another advantage enjoyed by holders of online tickets is free travel to the fair using local public-transport services operated by the RMV public-transport authority. Vouchers must be exchanged for admission tickets at the latest on arrival at the fair. Texprocess admission tickets can also be sent to mobile phones so visitors no longer have to print out their admission tickets but can show their phone tickets to gain admission to the fair.

Visitors wanting to find out about Texprocess, the exhibitors and events, as well as receive tips for their visit to the fair, should subscribe to the free Texprocess Newsletter at www.texprocess.com. The Newsletter contains information about the most important subjects relating to the fair – including last-minute changes.

Getting to the fair – quickly and easily

Whether by bus, train, car or plane, getting to the fair is quick and easy thanks to the central location of Frankfurt Fair and Exhibition Centre.

By car

The easiest way to Texprocess is via the ‘Westkreuz Frankfurt’ junction on the A5 motorway. All drivers have to do is follow the ‘Messe Frankfurt’ or ‘Messe’ signs on the motorway and leave at the ‘Westkreuz Frankfurt’ exit. The ‘Rebstock’ car park has ample space for visitors and a free shuttle-bus service to take them from there to the Exhibition Centre. When planning the journey, visitors should also note that there is a Low Emissions Zone in Frankfurt and only vehicles with stickers for Emission Categories 3 and 4 are permitted to enter. Further information about the Frankfurt Low Emissions

Zone can be found in the ‘Getting there’ section of the Texprocess website.

By bus and train

Thanks to the Exhibition Centre’s excellent connections to the local public transport network, it is also quick and easy to get to Frankfurt from towns up to 50 km away. Suburban trains S3, S4, S5 and S6 stop in the middle of the Exhibition Centre. Visitors coming from Frankfurt Main Railway Station (Hauptbahnhof) can get to the Ludwig-Erhard-Anlage entrance by underground line U4 in about two minutes. The same journey by foot takes just under ten minutes. The route from Frankfurt Airport to the Exhibition Centre is fast and well served by two suburban lines, S8 and S9, which run to the Main Railway Station every 15 minutes (journey time: approx. 11 minutes). Taxis take about 30 minutes. Another transfer option is the airportfair shuttle-bus service, which runs from the bus station of Terminals 1 and 2 straight to the fair entrance and costs € 6 each way.

Visas for international visitors

Messe Frankfurt’s International Sales Partners will be pleased to assist visitors needing a visa. Contact details can be found on the internet at www.texprocess.com. Simply click on ‘Visa’ in the ‘Getting there’ section and then ‘Contact International Sales Partners’. After clicking ‘Sales Partners Worldwide’, a map opens and you can click on the country concerned.

Finding accommodation with the Frankfurt Rhine-Main Hotel Guide Frankfurt

The compact Frankfurt Rhine-Main Hotel Guide is a great aid for finding suitable accommodation. Containing over 150 hotel entries in German and English, it can be ordered by telephone ( 49 69 7575-6083) for € 4.40 (including Restaurant Guide). The guide is also available as an internet database at www.hotelguide-frankfurt.de. The online search is particularly easy because the hotels can be selected on the basis of price and distance from the fair. Additionally, hotel accommodation can be booked via the Tourismus Congress GmbH, Frankfurt (www.frankfurt-tourismus.de), by calling 49 69 2123 0808 or by sending an e-mail to info@infofrankfurt.de. We recommend booking hotel accommodation well in advance.

Information and communication at the fair

On arrival at Frankfurt Fair and Exhibition Centre, quick orientation can be obtained with the aid of Compass, the Messe Frankfurt information and guidance system. Compass stands are located in all exhibition halls. Depending on the product or manufacturer sought, the system supplies a print out of the appropriate companies, halls and stand numbers. Before coming to the fair, guests can obtain a good overview of where the various exhibitors of interest to them are located using the hall plan in the ‘Exhibition grounds’ section of the Texprocess website. Internet access is available all over the Exhibition Centre using the W-LAN (Wireless Local Area Network) service. The only prerequisite is that the notebook, PC or PDA be fitted with a conventional W-LAN card. Files can also be printed out during the fair thanks to PinPrint, a new digital service of Messe Frankfurt. PinPrint stations are scattered throughout the Exhibition Centre and can be contacted directly from any mobile device, e.g., notebook, Blackberry or mobile phone. Detailed information about all mobile services can be found in the ‘Visit Texprocess’ section of the website at www.texprocess.com.
