Digitization – creating real opportunities for the apparel industry
Current fashion trends are changing rapidly, and the demand for individualized products is rising – these are the challenges faced by apparel manufacturers today. Now is the time to exploit the benefits of digitization to the full – not in individual phases of product development, however, but throughout the entire process chain right down to the finished product in the store – and the Human Solutions Group will show just how this can be done at the PI Apparel trade fair on October 26 and 27, 2017 in Berlin.
Digitization is currently occupying the industry across all sectors. “Digital working is electrifying the fashion industry,” says Dr. Andreas Seidl, CEO of the Human Solutions Group. “There's a heady feeling of sweeping change and optimism in the air. Current conversations with our customers and partners are making it apparent that digitization is no longer being challenged and doubted – companies are now getting actively involved and paving their own routes to digitization.”
However, the question is, where do you start to get into digital work? And how do you reap the benefits of working digitally during the different phases of a product and connect this to information in such a way as to create added value? “I'm convinced that a continuous process chain is the key to success when it comes to developing clothing quickly and cost-efficiently for specific target groups,” says Dr. Seidl. “3D is the key to more speed. We offer a simulation that is so close to reality, that you think you can touch the garment. Vidya can replace physical prototypes and the drafts can also be used for order and webshops.”
Live in Berlin: VR-Room-Demo especially for collection coordination
The prerequisite for virtual reality solutions is that clothing is simulated three-dimensionally. At the PI Apparel in Berlin, Human Solutions is showing a preview of the world's first Virtual Reality Room, specifically developed for the fashion industry. Visitors can participate in a live demonstration on Friday, October 27, 2017, and experience how collections will be virtually coordinated with partners from all over the world. At the conference, Dr. Martin Lades, Director of Fashion Product Systems for the Human Solutions Group will participate in a panel discussion on ‘Standardizing Digital Platforms to Overcome Issues of Systems Interoperability and Data Transfer,’ while in the conference exhibition area, Human Solutions Group employees will present solutions for design, production and the showroom.
