Annual Report for 2002 of the Human Solutions Company

30 percent growth and first-time profit

Kaiserslautern, 29. April 2003 – Human Solutions GmbH showed further growth 2002, making a profit for the first time. The company, which develops and sells hardware and software solutions for body scanning, ergonomics and simulation applications, has exceeded break even point to make a profit just months after becoming an independent company.

The software specialists from Kaiserslautern, Germany generated an annual surplus of 24,000 Euro for 2002. The pre-tax, pre-interest operating result amounted to

16,000 Euro. This success was achieved mainly through the sales of systems, services, maintenance, leasing and the issuing of licenses. Consistent orientation on the demands of target markets is a decisive factor in the company's success. Human Solutions' innovations and developments lead swiftly and dependably to marketable products and solutions.

The company has also continued its remarkable business development in 2002. In comparison to the previous year's time frame, Human Solutions increased its sales by 30 percent to 65 million Euros for the period February through December 2002.

The globally active software and system house did not only achieve growth in sales, the company also saw an increase in personnel. In Sales Director Anton Preiß, the company has gained an experienced sales professional. On the personnel side, Human Solutions had over 74 employees in December 2002. Before the company became independent, the number of personnel was 64.

Strategy for Business Year 2003

Human Solutions has endorsed its commitment to maintaining its remarkable growth. Human Solutions and its three subsidiaries have targeted sales at 8.8 million Euros for the period up to and including December 2003 - a further 34% percent increase on last year's figures.

To this end, the company will focus on two business sectors: in the body scanning sector, mail order companies and armed forces will be targeted in addition to clothing manufacturers and the retail trade. In the human model and ergonomics software sectors, the emphasis will continue to be placed on a cooperative working relationship with the automotive industry. New products and services will be offered from within the framework of R &D projects.

In addition to Europe, North America has also been targeted as an important sales market. Our sales subsidiary Human Solutions of North America represents Human Solutions in the U.S.A. “We want to tie in with the positive 2002 business results there and further strengthen our sales activities on that continent", said Andreas Seidl, Managing Director of Human Solutions, commenting on business development.

He does however see a possible risk factor for the company in the present state of economic affairs in the garment and automotive sectors. "A further decline in sales in these two sectors and a continuing reluctance to buy on the part of the consumer could have a negative effect on the general attitude to investment - and that in turn could negatively affect Human Solutions' targeted growth for the financial year."
