The 3D manikin RAMSIS visits the Eurosatory

Human Solutions will participate in the Eurosatory trade fair in Paris from June 11 to 15, 2018 as part of a joint German booth. The company will present the RAMSIS Defense ergonomic software solution and a digitalized solution approach for military clothing using 3D body scanners.

Vehicles used for military purposes have special ergonomic requirements. Certain items of clothing or equipment, for example, must be taken into account when persons enter or exit the vehicle, or a specific space must be reserved for their transport. Vehicle designers can use the RAMSIS digital manikin for this – it provides important information for optimal ergonomic interior design as early as the development phase. The RAMSIS Defense module addresses the special requirements of the military and Human Solutions will be presenting it at the Paris show.

Simulation of the entry and exit wearing combat gear

“The module has an extensive library of military items and equipment,” says Anton Preiss, Director Mobility at Human Solutions. “Our digital manikin can be equipped with these items to simulate vehicle entry and exit in full combat gear.”

Digitalizing and optimizing the garment process

The Human Solutions trade fair team will also be taking along a fashion sector solution: “We have used our know-how in 3D body scanning and corporate fashion to digitalize the process of the initial

clothing process of military personnel. Instead of a recruit being assigned a size visually, he is measured by our body scanner when he enters the army – and he then receives a size recommendation for each individual item of clothing,” explains Preiss. “The collected body dimension data can then be re-used to determine the requirements of individual sizes more precisely, for instance.”
