Human Solutions initiates new research projects


In the past few weeks, Human Solutions GmbH has started work on three new research projects in the field of ergonomics/human simulation.

Nowadays, vehicles are central working and living spaces. Motion sequences, operation, safety, and comfort all play a major economic role. RAMSIS is the market-leading CAD manikin by Human Solutions. Vehicle manufacturers can use it to design the vehicle interior in such a way that everything is as comfortable as possible for the driver and operation is intuitive.

"Research and development is a central part of our company philosophy. Software requirements and expectations of what software can do are constantly increasing. That's why we invest in high-tech and the processes of tomorrow," says Dr. Andreas Seidl, Managing Director of Human Solutions Group. "We want to develop our CAD manikin continuously and thereby enhance its capabilities.“

Human Solutions GmbH has recently been involved in three new research projects, in which the use of RAMSIS is very relevant:

EU Project: Knowledge transfer in the shipping industry

The "European Boat Design Innovation Group - Wind Farm Support Vessel" (EBDIG-WFSV) is funded by the European Union. It involves the transfer of knowledge from the automotive industry to the shipping industry: For the first time, Human Solutions is making its CAD manikin RAMSIS available for shipping. The research objects are ships that transport people to work on offshore wind farms.

Checking vision standards for the bus and truck industry

The "Safe Watch" project involves enabling existing national and international standards to flow into the development of vehicles in such a way that the standards can be checked digitally in the prototypical implementation of 3D vehicle models.

Virtualizing seat belt routing

The objective of the "Belt4All" project is to develop new methods and techniques for cross-manufacturer, digital design of seat belt systems in the automotive industry. The basic idea is to simulate seat belt routing in a 3D environment to enable a better assessment of the results. Belt anchorage models, test device models and vehicle environment geometry are addressed.

The projects "Belt4All" and "Safe Watch" are accompanied by a committee consisting of users who initially formulated the requirements from a user's perspective – and the committee will ultimately validate the developed solutions in pilot applications.
