IMB 2003: World Fair for Apparel Production Technology and Textile Processing

Goodbye measuring tape! XFIT by Human Solutions revolutionizes warehousing in the garment industry Manufacture customized, standard clothing economically

Kaiserslautern / Cologne, 08 May 2003 – At the World Fair for Apparel Production Technology and Textile Processing in Cologne, Germany, Human Solutions will present the software system family XFIT for the automatic optimization in the fitting of standardized or individual apparel. The XFIT System Family consists of two models: (1) - XFIT CORPORATE, including the special solution XFIT ARMY, for the mass fitting of uniformed employees, in, for example, airline companies, police forces, hotel chains or armed forces. (2) - XFIT FASHION for the sales of customer-individual products in the mail order trade. The implementation of an XFIT software solution realizes cost savings thanks to fast, automatic measurement of the customer. Standard clothing can thus be assigned more quickly and will fit better.

Standardized and individual clothing

3D body scanning by Human Solutions lies at the technological heart of the XFIT Software Family. The scanner can capture more than 75 different body measurements within a few seconds, storing the results in a data management program. Based on this 3D scan data, each employee can be assigned the best possible fit from a pre-defined standard range by means of pre-prepared garment tables, or perfectly-fitting clothing can be separately manufactured.

XFIT Army: individual uniforms for the Army

There are a multitude of application possibilities for XFIT, all of which can be adapted to specific customer demands. One example of this is our special solution for armies used by the Dutch Army for their entire recruit clothing processes - XFIT Army. The system delivers high quality and dependable data for up to 30 soldiers per hour - two to four times more than conventional manual measurement procedures.

Efficient clothing procedures

The automatic measuring and allocation of sizes with solutions like ArmyFIT offers many advantages - thanks to the objective capture of body measurements, manual errors cannot occur. The system combines easily with other components like weighing systems or foot scanning systems. This guarantees comprehensive and complete data. A 'uniform' appearance for the Army is also guaranteed, thanks to the integration of customer-selected clothing tables, specified to customer needs. As well as providing a much higher percentage of better-fitting garments (95%), efficient processing sequences lead to more satisfaction 'in the ranks'.

Costs savings

Solutions from the XFIT System Family considerably reduce the costs of the outfitting process by improving production and warehousing - as ArmyFit does for the Dutch Army, for example. In the long term, efficient analysis of statistics enables the actual requirements to be calculated exactly and garment-sizing systems to be adapted accordingly. The system can be smoothly integrated into existing logistics systems and operated without the need for any elaborate and time-consuming training.
