Perfect seat ergonomics with the RAMSIS Seat Design Modules

Ergonomic seat design   Human/Seat interaction  Ergonomics limit values

Seat height and seat position influence ergonomics in the vehicle. That’s why we created the RAMSIS Seat Design module – to enable ergonomic seat design in vehicles. RAMSIS shows how the customer wants to sit in the vehicle and RAMSIS Seat Design shows how the seat supports him. Thanks to this detailed knowledge of the effects of seat positioning on comfort/discomfort, reachability and vision, the suitability of a vehicle for the entire defined target group can be ensured at an early stage.

  • Adjustability

Longitudinal and height adjustment, plus backrest inclination

  • Seat cushions

Shape/circumference of the seat cushion and its degree of hardness

  • Attachments

Seat attachments like head supports and belt anchorage systems

  • Adjustability

Seat settings automatically in a package context or user-defined

Efficient Design of Belt Systems with the RAMSIS Seat Belt Design Suite of Modules

Better belt ergonomics   Compliance with standards = less time and reduced costs   Increased safety

At an early stage of development, RAMSIS Seat Belt Design ensures that your belt systems are optimized in accordance with ergonomic aspects, that standards are complied with and that safety is increased thanks to the correct functioning of the belt. Digital ergonomics also brings economic advantages to the development stage, since computer simulation eliminates many development steps and time-consuming physical tests – and that means significant time and cost savings.

  • Baby seat/Gabarit

Gabarit seat belt simulation with Gabarit – Gabarit test device for testing with baby seats – belt length and lock position

  • Component check

Seat Belt Design Tool Box – minimum stop length, belt in rest position or in combination with other components

  • Ergonomics

Seat belt simulation with the RAMSIS Manikin – belt routing to match body dimensions, seat position and anchorage concept on selected RAMSIS test collectives

  • eBTD

Seat belt simulation with eBTD – standard-compliant belt design for Canada in accordance with eBTD, compliant with standard dimensions and the dummy with the eBTD specifications

  • Crash Test/Hybrid III

Seat belt simulation with Hybrid III – the belt in crash situations with a standardized virtual crash test dummy

  • Crash Test/Q-Dummy

Seat belt simulation with Q dummy – static pre-crash evaluations of children (6 and 10 years old) in a child seat

Improve vision & perception with the RAMSIS Cognitive module

Better vision   Optimal display design   Fast testing of new concepts

New display concepts must be carefully analyzed. The RAMSIS Cognitive module allows you to extend the visual analysis in RAMSIS to include readability and the minimum visual range of information. This RAMSIS module shows how well the information can be read on road signs, for example – depending on the display, lighting conditions, positioning and other external road traffic conditions. The time needed for gaze changes is also determined.

  • Visual shadow

Visual shadow areas from the perspective of the occupants

  • Occlusion

Direct and rearview mirror occlusion analyses

  • Reflection

    Day and night reflection

  • 360°

    360° analysis

  • Fields of vision

Compare the fields of vision in different vehicle types

  • Gaze changes

Time taken for a gaze change

Easier & faster market approval thanks to standard-compliant development with the RAMSIS Visuals Standards & Directives module

Early check of the standard   No physical test benches needed   Fast market approval

Standard-compliant development right from the outset. RAMSIS Visual Standards lets you display the real fields of vision that are required by law. Violations of the standard specifications are displayed immediately. The digital tests can also be reproduced on different vehicle variants.

Age-appropriate vehicle design with the RAMSIS VirtualAging module

A target group with real purchasing power   Age-appropriate vehicle concepts   Transparent age-related changes in performance

In the year 2060, every third German will be over 65 years old. The market power of the 50+ target group is also increasing on an international scale – and this demographic change also affects ergonomic requirements – especially in vehicles! RAMSIS can be expanded with the VirtualAging module to meet the requirements of the older generation.

  • Vision with spectacles

Limited visual field for spectacle wearers

  • Force

    Gender and age-specific maximum force

  • Posture

    Age-dependent anthropometry and postures

  • Accommodation skills and gaze changes

Significantly longer gaze change times and age-dependent accommodation limits

  • Fields of vision

Restricted range and vision and visual fields

  • Movement

Changes in joint angle limits and movement percentiles
